    This modern floating unit is located within the Fetești locality and was specially designed to support scientific activities within a strategic ecological project. Its main role is to support sturgeon tagging, monitoring and research operations, providing teams of specialists with optimal working conditions, temporary accommodation and complete energy autonomy in the field.

  • Solid naval structure and intelligent compartmentalization

    The pontoon is made of naval steel (sheets and profiles), in a monocoque system with a longitudinal structure, ensuring durability and stability in operation.

    • The internal structure is divided into 5 sealed compartments, with easy access through lids and manholes.

    • A lightweight living structure made of 100 mm sandwich panels was installed on the deck, providing a comfortable and thermally insulated space.

  • Functional compartmentalization for efficiency in the field

    The interior of the pontoon is designed to provide comfort, functionality and autonomy during research activities carried out on the water. The spaces are well delimited and adapted for the temporary work and living of teams of specialists on field missions.

    • Accommodation room (4.3 x 2.6 m), equipped with private bathroom

    • Meeting room and dining area (5.0 x 3.0 m), open-space, with fully equipped kitchen

    • Technical compartment (2.5 x 0.95 m) with water, energy and safety equipment

    • Access to the upper terrace with metal awning and mounted solar panels

  • Modern equipment for autonomy and comfort in the field

    • 5 kWp photovoltaic system with 20 kWh lithium-ion batteries for green energy supply

    • Electric boiler and solar system for domestic hot water production

    • Air conditioning and heating with electroconvectors for thermal comfort in any season

    • Hydraulic platform with lifting capacity of 2000 kg, for equipment and materials

    • Lifting crane with a capacity of over 1000 kg, for technical operations in the field

    • Fire extinguishing system with internal hydrant for operational safety

    • Drainable tanks and UV purification system for wastewater, in accordance with environmental regulations

    • Electric stove, oven, hood and refrigerator for preparing food on board

    • Beds and functional furniture, adapted for temporary accommodation of research teams

    The pontoon serves as a mobile research and intervention base, being used by specialists for capturing and marking sturgeons, as well as for various ecological monitoring activities in the field. The project directly contributes to the protection of aquatic biodiversity and supports sustainable working methods in hard-to-reach areas.

Research Pontoon with Accommodation Facilities and Own Energy Equipment

We designed and built a multifunctional research pontoon, fully equipped for conducting scientific field activities, temporary accommodation and autonomous operation with locally produced electricity.
